SAFETY TOUCH: Safety Meets Flexibility

A New Era of Safe Machine Operation Has Begun

Capacitive touchscreen systems are ideal for displaying a wide range of functions, input fields, and status indications in a variable and application-specific way. This combination of display and input system enables far more variable operating surfaces with a greater number of functions, plus intuitive operation, while reducing the number of switches that otherwise have to be installed in the control consoles of mobile agriculture, construction, or forestry machines.

When combined, our touch technologies, can assist in achieving Performance Level D (PLd) certification.

Safety Touch

Wherever safety-relevant machine functions are operated by touch, all the necessary system components must meet the required safety standards. Among the special challenges are not only reliable detection and error-free signal transmission of the sensor coordinates, but in particular also filtering out unintentional inputs or contact with media such as moisture or contamination. Equally important is monitoring the graphical user interface and the input fields displayed, and ensuring error-free functioning of the display.

Advantages:

  • Flexible safety functions
  • New possibilities for design and ergonomics
  • Less control elements with more flexibilities
  • Adaptive GUI for intuitive and efficient user experience
  • One HMI including all safety and non-safety functions
  • Cost effective safety solution

Safety Buttons

The on-screen safety button ensures functional safety, with mechanical elements applicable on screen. The “show & go” preview functionality enhances usability and operational safety. Additionally, moisture immunity is achieved through applied mechanics, preventing liquids from affecting touch functionality. This combination ensures robust and reliable performance in various condition.

Advantages:

  • Tactile feedback beside touch functions
  • Robust against dust and moisture
  • Flexible positioning of the button on the screen
  • No glass breakage necessary
  • Advanced UX with “show & go” function
